Yohandri Pérez Garcia’s Path from Champion Player to Elite Coach

Yohandri Pérez Garcia’s tennis journey began in the Dominican Republic, where his exceptional skill and competitive spirit quickly propelled him to national prominence. As a former ATP player and junior national champion, Yohandri distinguished himself on both the national and international stages, setting the foundation for a lifelong career in high-performance tennis.

His pursuit of excellence extended beyond playing — Yohandri holds ITF Level 1 and 2 coaching certifications and has devoted more than a decade to developing top-level talent. Over the years, he has coached ATP, WTA, and ITF-level players, as well as Top 100 ITF juniors and NCAA Division I athletes, combining technical precision with a deep understanding of player development at every stage.

In 2023, Yohandri led the Dominican Republic’s National Advanced Program, where he played a key role in shaping the country’s next generation of elite players. Prior to that, he spent over six years at the renowned Elvis Espinal Tennis Academy, refining his expertise in international player training.

Now in his second year as Head Pro and Junior Development Director at Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club (MBYC) in New York, Yohandri continues to bring his wealth of experience and global perspective to every lesson. His coaching philosophy is built on discipline, consistency, and the belief that success on the court begins with mental and physical resilience.

At Maximum, Yohandri’s focus remains on unlocking each player’s full potential — guiding them not only toward competitive success but also personal growth through the sport. His passion for excellence and calm leadership style make him an invaluable addition to the Maximum coaching team.
